A Message to Our Community About Counterfeit Listings and Resale Platforms

One of the things we value most as a small artisan brand is the relationship we have with the people who carry our bags.

Every piece we create is handcrafted with intention. We carefully select our materials, work with skilled artisans, and spend significant time on quality control before any bag leaves our hands. These are not mass-produced items—they are thoughtfully made pieces designed to be used, loved, and carried for years.

Because of that, we genuinely love seeing our bags live long lives. Recently, however, we’ve become aware of situations on both resale platforms and well known retailers that we feel our community should understand.

Re-Sale Listings for Bags the Seller No Longer Possesses

In many cases, we have identified listings where an individual purchased a bag directly from us, photographed it for resale, and then returned the item to us for a refund.

The bag was back in our possession, yet the listings remain active on platforms.

This means the seller no longer has the bag they are advertising and would not be able to ship it to a buyer when the item is sold. Buyers viewing these listings understandably believe they are purchasing a genuine item that the seller can deliver, which is not the case. Even after contacting resale platforms with evidence, these listings remain live.

The bag photographed was returned to us from a customer who had purchased a replica believing it was "Made in Italy" from "Washed Vegetable Tanned Italian Leather". 

Counterfeit Bags Being Sold

We have also encountered bags being sold online that are not authentic versions of our products.

In some cases, customers have reached out to us after purchasing one of these bags through a resale platform or even well known retailers and later discovered significant differences in quality, materials, and craftsmanship compared to the bags we make.

We experience attempts to return replica bags to us in hopes of receiving a refund for an authentic item purchased and received from us. People purchase from brands and "designers" who appear to of replicated our bags but the bag they receive is vastly different, made in Pakistan, India or China and always represented and stamped "made in Italy".

These situations are concerning not only because many of these sellers will create social media posts attempting to throw doubt on the Authenticity of Lusher Brands Bags, they create confusion for customers, but most concerning because they misrepresent the work that goes into every piece we produce, every relationship with our partners and trick genuine shoppers into purchases items who become so discouraged they lose their trust in genuine brands like Lusher.

Recently, we moved our workshop from Tuscany to the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy so we could work more closely with our trusted artisan partners, preserve traditional techniques, and protect the distinctive designs and leather finishes that make LUSHER unique.
